Mr. Sato has an excellent sense of・・・

Mr. Sato has an excellent sense of balance of understanding cultures and psychology, and how businesses could best operate in that environment.

I first met Mr. Sato in 2005 when I was the President of the Japan-America Society of Hawaii, the Crown Prince Akihito Scholarship Foundation and the Ehime Maru Memorial Association. I was introduced to Mr. Sato through a mutual friend and was interested in learning what Mr. Sato could offer to improve nonprofit (NPO) operations. I learned quickly that here was a gentleman who had tremendous knowledge in all fields, was highly intelligent, and could quickly grasp the essence of the problem and offer innovative solutions.

Fast forward to 2008. After 15 years, I have “retired” from the three nonprofit organizations that I ran although I am still associated with the Crown Prince Akihito Scholarship Foundation as president emeritus. In this capacity I am assisting the Foundation in planning for the 50th Anniversary Celebration in 2009. I have also transitioned from being a president of NPOs to becoming an entrepreneur. It is in this new role that I again met Mr. Sato in March 2008.

Just as in our first meeting, I was impressed with his breadth of knowledge and ability to “think outside of the box.” He provided me with information that I should be aware of that could impact my business and gave me suggestions on how some of the obstacles could be overcome.

In my view, Mr. Sato has an excellent sense of balance of understanding cultures and psychology, and how businesses could best operate in that environment. I believe he could serve as a bridge between Japan and other countries. I look forward to his coming to Hawaii again and sharing his knowledge with my friends in the business community. Personally, I look forward to seeing him again soon and learning new things from him so I can enhance my business.
